The Athelstan Banners | All Saints Church

+ Client All Saints Church, Kingston, UK

+ Collaborator In collaboration with digital embroidery studio Jacky Puzey.

+ Brief To enhance and add to texture to certain key areas across the seven banners through a range of beading and cording. Some techniques are used on each banner, such as the raised work on each crown to give a feeling of continuity, whilst on other areas the beading brings attention to key events that took place within the reign of that king. It is aimed that the banners will completed by 2024.

+ What we created Beading for a series of seven Athelstan banners celebrating the seven Saxon Kings crowned in Kingston when it was the capital of England. Each banner measures approximately 200cm x 120cm
